Conductive silicone is available it two types; thermally conductive
silicone sponge and electrically
conductive solid silicone. The thermally conductive type is used in gasket and cushioning applications when electrical isolation, sealing and
heat transfer is needed. The sponge is a firm density due to the conductive fillers added to the formula. This formula is about 2 or 3
times the price of general purpose silicone sponge.
The solid electrical type is used in gasket applications when sealing and EMI/RF shielding
is needed.
